Dear Lifesummer,

This is "the" place where you can submit suggestions for new features or suggestions for improvement for the Lifesum app.

Has another user already suggested your idea? Vote it up so it gets more attention, as this will help us prioritize!

Rules:

- Please only post suggestions/ ideas in English - that way everybody can read and understand your submission

- Please browse through existing ideas before posting a new one in order to avoid duplicates

- Please do not contact us on this forum in case of technical or payment issues - instead, contact us through the app via https://lifesum.com/deep/settings?page=support. This is the quickest way to get help from our support.

Thank you very much!

We’re looking forward to your feedback!

Best,
Lifesum

  1. Get restaurant support (like MFP)

I'd like to be able to search for a restaurant (Chipotle, for example). That would then bring up a page of chipotle's menu, to which you could pick and choose what you ordered to be able to quickly enter your meal in.

  2. Premium Is Too Expensive. Monthly Access Should Not Exceed $2

Lifesum Premium is too expensive. There should not be any yearly prepay requirements and the monthly fee should not exceed $2. There is not a whole lot of content with Lifesum and this is not a exercise membership workout program / forum group, but only an app / database. The current business model of trying to obtain and retain a large user base through overpricing is not working. The better business model is $2 a month, which the average app user could afford and in turn help retain a bigger user base.

  3. Manual Entry of other nutrition info (not just calories).

Manual entry for other nutrition info, not just calories. Great for entry of home delivery meals (e.g. Hello Fresh). Fat, Sat Fat, Protein, Carbs, Sugar, Fiber, Sodium.

  4. What's in the fridge

It would be nice to be able to scan Foods in your fridge and have a meal plan built for you according to what diet you're on. It is very hard to come up with keto meals with foods that normal people eat. Just don't have watercress and feta cheese laying around.

  6. Support bone mass, muscle mass, body fat percentage and water content when adding weight values

It is great to see that the interaction of weight values with Apple Health now finally works. I know that it is easy for someone who did not previously provide any feedback to say "it should have worked before"; however, it is great to see it fully implemented and working properly.

My scales, which I have had for some years, track not only weight (mass) but also bone mass, muscle mass, body fat percentage and water content, and I have been trying to find an app that allows me to track these parameters on my iPhone and integrate with Apple…

  7. Allow users to update/correct starting weight

When I started tracking my weight lose I weighed 215lbs. Somewhere along the way, the app set my starting weight to 195 (likely user error). Now, I cannot “correct” my starting weight and it feels like I am not getting the motivational credit of all the weight I already lost.

A simple option to “update” my starting weight would likely help those who discover lifesum during their weight loss journey, as well, to track weight already lost.

  9. I would like a diabetic diet plan. Need to count carbs but not the same as a Keto diet.

Would like to be able to count carbs for a diabetic diet. Including the Movesum counter helps a lot.

  10. Weekly progress summary

In order to get a good grasp on progress, weekly summaries would really help. How many calories was my intake compared to my goal this week? When will I reach my weight goal with this tempo?

The app is really good on a day-to-day basis, but it would be nice to get a better overview, and therefor a better understanding of your own progress.

  11. Tell us which foods most contribute to our daily nutrition nutrient distribution (ie where did all of that added sugar come from!)

Let me see where the micros are coming from. My first thought when I saw 49/30g added sugar was WTF! I don’t eat chocolate/dessert, drink alcohol, or add sugar to any of my recipes. Where DOES this added sugar come from? The individual view of a single food or recipe doesn’t necessarily differentiate between natural and added sugars, so I can’t figure out what the culprit is.

  12. Improve food database

Lifesum is prettier than the alternatives but without a reliable database of foods it's no better than a spreadsheet or even, God forbid, myfitnesspal.

    • Let people take photos of the nutritional label and parse those (there are standard types around the world)
    • Try to find similar foods and merge them. Where data differs, note as much.
    • Make it easier to work around others' inability to interpret labels correctly (by automating de-duplication, importing bulk research data like the USDA database).
    • Make it easier to use volumetric units (more easily approximated than mass). This has to be done at food creation time…

  14. Cheat Day

I hate seeing the little red bars when I go to the "Me" section. I have cheat days/Refeeding days every so often, it would be awesome to be able to set a day as a "Refeeding Day" or something of the like. Maybe even set caloric intakes different for different days.

    Thanks!

  15. Please add a Fodmap diet plan.

Please add a Fodmap diet plan. New to the app, and so far I like it. I have IBS on top of arthritis with meds and am trying keto strict but a fodmap diet would be even better! Thanks!

  17. Keto + intermittent fasting plan

Why not introduce a combo power plan that combines the fat burning magic of ketosis and the health benefits of intermittent fasting
    Keto 75% F 20% P 5% C
Intermittent Fasting 16:8 every other day or 3 days a week that the user can define when setting up their plan

  18. Count calories per week

I want to be able to "save" calories some days and eat extra other days. Make it possible to see how many calories there are left the whole week next to the day calories.

  19. Ability to copy all meals from previous days

For a "I eat the same thing every week"-person this is a neat feature.
For instance, on a Monday one should be able to copy all meals from last Monday (or any day) instead of having to add them one at a time.

    Lifesum Team responded

Although not word for word what you suggested, we do have a recents function making it possible to add food you have previously tracked. I will keep this suggestion open however for future development of the function!

  20. Fiber Tracking

Please add ability to track fiber intake! Studies show that the average adult should consume 20-25 grams of fiber per day depending on age and gender, and that most don't get enough fiber in their diets. Getting enough fiber not only helps with weight loss, but contributes directly to healthy weight maintenance, heart health, diabetes prevention and insulin/glucose maintenance. Your app has been an excellent teaching tool and adding this feature would increase value & help set it even further apart from other similar apps!
