Stand-alone Meal Planner with portion size and count scaling
The meal planner in the 3-week diet plan is the most useful feature in LifeSum at the moment and the only part that has actually enabled me to tangibly lose weight.
Unfortunately it seems to be only available for that fixed programme and cannot be accessed if one is on any other diet than this planned programme.
I would like this to be a standard feature one can enable on the front screen and to be able to have it suggest meal plan options from the entire recipe catalaogue based on diet flavor of my choosing.
For example if I'd like to try a Mediterranean diet, the planner should populate it's suggestions from the Mediterranean tagged recipes in the recipe collection, or if I'm going on a Keto diet it would do the same with Keto-tagged recipes.
Also being able to choose you own recipes in it would be absolutely fabulous.
Another feature I would like to have it scaling of the recipes to 1-4 portions. With the current portion sizes in the recipes that are in the 3-week diet meal planner I had a family of three eat out of generally a 1.5-2x recipe and a 3x recipe produced so large portions that we would be eating left-overs for two days after.
Altogether you should implement a two-step scaling logic to the recipes:
First scale the recipes to fit a person's calorie/macro needs based on the apps knowledge of my personal attributes and preferred diet plan.
Let us scale the recipe to how many people will be eating the same food as I am as no-one is going to make one dish to themselves and a second meal every day for the family.
Let us finetune the base recipe scaling based on our experience of the resulting size of portion i.e. if too much to eat -> make base portion smaller or if left hungry due to small portion size -> make the base portion larger and then remember this personal preference in the recipe library for the future.
With this scaling one could probably accommodate personal custom recipes as well fairly easily.
