I also think the idea is great but what would make it even way more usefull would be the vitamin + mineral + aminoacid + fat etc. tracker. Imagine the app would recommend you some ingredients (doesn't have to compose a real meal) which would be perfectly fitting to how many calories, vitamin c etc. you need and of course no meat for vegetarians etc. The App would enable me to do something then which I could never do alone despite any efforts. (This is special, because everything else is in theory doable with pencil and paper, but this would not!)
