Meal categories
Would it be possible for you to somehow make it possible to sort “meals” that we add or create, into categories? I love to add meals in my app to easily add them in my daily mapping, but over time you get a lot of meals to sort through in order to find what you want…. And I just think that the option to choose a category to search in would make it a lot easier and “cleaner”. Having the option to choose: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, smoothies etc.. maybe even have the option to create your own categories to sort your meals

Recipe grams instead of servings
Please let us enter total grams of a recipe, and then the macros per gram would be calculated in the app and we would track it just like any other food. For instance; I have a brownie recipe I love and make often and before getting premium I would just track all the ingredients in one meal, measure the entire brownies weight, and then manually calculate the macros and calories with the Calculator app and keep them in my notes app, so I could have a smaller or bigger piece depending on what I wanted for that day. I thought by getting premium I wouldn’t have to do this and the app would do it for me by creating recipes, but I was wrong, and have to continue doing it manually. Unless it gets fixed I won’t be renewing my subscription since it’s the most important feature I’m missing

Tab to keep all the foods we have personally added
I think it would be incredibly useful to have a tab where we would only be looking at the foods we have added, and also so that we could manage those foods, like changing the name if you had a typo when adding the food in the first place, deleting the food you added from your database, and just make it easier to deal with those

Quick access button for saved recipes
Under the recipes section there should be a category for saved recipes. Saving recipes from the app is great but accessing them is clunky and hard to find. Please add our saved recipes to the recipes section.

Allow me to turn off the image section for meals
Currently more than half of my display for each meal, is taken up by a blank slate with the option to add an image of the meal. I have zero interest in taking photos of my meals.
Please give me the option to remove this entire, completely useless, section for all meals.

Import Lykon Test Results directly into the app
Would be great to directly have the Lykon test results also imported to the Lifesum App to make it easier to have personalized recipes and make tracking easier based on the recommendations made by Lykon. This should be for all Lykon tests that are offered.

Changing the meal category
I would like to be able to change the meal category (breakfast, lunch etc.) after I have saved it. Now I have to erase the wrong one and apply the foods again to another (ex. snack -> lunch). Also when I do a ”quick scan” from the icon you can’t choose the meal and then later you can’t correct it.

Metric liquid units in the app are weird
I have Lifesum set to metric. It is clear, however, that whoever made the units choice drop-down for liquids does not actually use metric. Units available for milk, for example, are currently Centiliter, Deciliter, Milliliter, Tablespoon and Teaspoon.
(a) that’s not how the *-litre suffix is spelled. It’s “re” not “er”.
(b) literally nobody in real life uses centilitres or decilitres - ditch them.
(c) missing options are cups (1 metric cup = 250ml) and litres. Cups (and fractions of them) are often used in cooking. Litres would only actually be useful for things like water across a whole day, but should be there for that kind of purpose. This really feels very very weird and throws me off every time I see that dialog. It’s been like that for years, but today I saw it one more time and felt compelled to write to you about it at last.

A feature to turn off the emojis/the categorisation of “good” and “bad”
Currently, when registrering your food, Lifesum provides an emoji and a ranking of the meal/food items. Even some fruits annd vegetables are sometimes ranked with a negative emoji or described as bad or lacking. This categorisation of food as simply “good” or “bad” lacks nuance and has the potential to steer people’s relationship with food in a negative direction. The negative judging of macros based on one food item or meal seems odd, as you can still get important nutrients without every meal or snack including both protein, fiber and carbohydrates - and you can easily balance out your macros for the day in following meals. I propose a feature to be able to turn the rating system off so that people who are more disposed to disordered eating behaviours/thoughts and or people who feel triggered and discouraged by the system are able to use the app in a way that is more in line with their goals and mental health. It can be both discouraging and unhealthy to get a meal or a food reviewed as “bad” even though you’ve registered a healthy amount of calories.

As a fasting user, it would be helpful if I could log the start of a fast before today.
With the current fasting tracker, it only allows me to start a fast today. If I started a fast yesterday, but have not yet logged in, the earliest I can put is this morning at midnight. This would be also helpful for users who may have a multi-day fast.

Speech Recognition AI
Fine-tune a llm that and use speech-recognition. This would implement AI in a useful and maybe more organized way. The user Just tells by speeking what they used and how much. Therefore No ai hast to bei trained to recognize the specific food and the amount which is really hard.

Ukrainian Language Support
Hi Lifesum Team,
Please add the Ukrainian language to your list of supported languages. As a Ukrainian speaker, I think it would really improve the experience for many users in Ukraine and beyond.
Ukrainian is spoken by millions, and including it would make your services more accessible and show that you value inclusivity.
