Add quick-tracking macros (fat, protein, carbs)
Currently, the option to quick-track food is only providing the fields title + kcal
An improvement is to also add fat + protein + carbs for quick tracking when the user has this data available
319 votesHi there,
We are happy to announce that we have implemented the macro quick tracking! :)

Different goal
I believe there needs to be a different goal category. I personally am trying to lose fat and tone up whilst building muscle. I should maintain a similar weight as I will lose weight due to fat loss but gain muscle which may balance out. Therefore, there should be an option that optimises fat loss and weight gain such as high protein, low fat/carb. Maybe a body fat % goal and muscle mass % goal rather than weight?

Brazilian jiu-jitsu as exercise
There's "martial arts", but with brazilian jiu-jitsu you can loose so much more calories than in that. It's the martial art more practiced in Brazil.
1 voteThank you for your suggestion! The responsible team will add the exercise to the in-app list.

Ability to add own recipes, meals, food items
Maybe this already in the app, but I wasn't able to find it. I make a lot of my own food. I would like to be able to enter the recipe or import it from a source and get the nutritionals available for use in the Lifesum diary as food I've consumed.
Thanks!

You find the option to create your own recipes, meals or/and food items under Me / Favorites in the app.

Improve scanner functionality
The current implementation of barcode scanner is terribly bad. I think it would be a good idea to look into a better. I know from experience that Scandit is a very good and powerful scanning solution.
1 voteWe have improved the overall performance of the scanner both on iOS and Android:
- faster scanning
- option to switch the flash on/off in the scanner window
- if the scanner is unable to recognize a code you can now manually enter the code! -
Barcode scanner
The barcode scanner should have a fast access button on the homescreen.
I like to use it when shopping to easier choose low calorie food or watever im looking for.1 voteYou find that option on iOS when you hold your finger on the app icon.
Also:
We have improved the overall performance of the scanner both on iOS and Android:- faster scanning
- option to switch the flash on/off in the scanner window
- if the scanner is unable to recognize a code you can now manually enter the code! -
Disable in app audio for bar code scan
Optional to disable audio by scanning bar code. Sound appears even mobile phone is mute (eg restaurant ...)
6 votesWe have improved the overall performance of the scanner both on iOS and Android:

Quick barcode scan
I would really like to be able to access the barcode scan from a widget.
This would be useful in a supermarket to see if I really want to buy something, or during the day when I am hungry and trying to decide what item would be better for me to eat.
At the moment, to access scanning, I have to open the app and act as though I want to add an item to a meal in order to get to the scanning function which isn’t really appropriate.
I think the quick access to barcode scanning would be really…3 votesOn iOS you get the option to scan directly from the homescreen by clicking on the logo for 1-2 seconds – you then see the barcode option

Adding kcal burned on a workout
When you select a workout, insted of just having the option of choosing minutes, you could add calories burned for that workout,
For exampel, i do a lot of high intense weight lifting, and if i add it into the lifesum app i only have the option of choosing the amount of time my workout was, insted i would prefer the option to add my calories burned since im using a huawei watch gt to tack my burned calories depending on my heartrate, adding this feature would help those whom tack our burned calories this way.
15 votesThank you very much for your feedback!
You find that option by clicking on “+”, choosing exercise, and then clicking on “Calories” under the search bar. You will then be able to just track calories and a title for the workout.
Generally, you have the following options to track exercise:
-
Turn off barcode scanner sound.
Please give the option to turn off the barcode scanner beep. It is very loud and annoying.

KJ to calories
Every nutrition value where I’m from is in calories, it would be a lot easier to track my calories if I could change the format.
Thanks!51 votesYou have the option to change the unit system in your app under Settings/Account Settings/Unit System.
Please choose your preferred option there.

Make a meal out what i ate
After i finish entering everything i ate for lunch or dinner, add a feature to create a meal in my favorites out of all the items i logged.
278 votesHi there,
You find that option by clicking into the meal and then top right on the heart icon – you will then be able to create a meal of the food items tracked and save it under Favorites.

Streaks.
Please add streaks. It’s the real downside about using Lifesum over MFP. There’s nothing motivating the user to not miss a day.
338 votesDear Lifesummers,
We are very happy to inform you that this has been implemented in the meantime.
Please see more details below: https://lifesum.helpshift.com/a/lifesum---healthier-eating-better-living/?s=food-exercise-tracking&f=streaks---what-are-they-and-what-can-they-do-for-me---ios&p=all

Keto meal plan
A meal plan to match the chosen diet (with a shopping list) should be available with premium. A keto plan is very hard to accomplish in terms of carb intake and the only thing stopping me is the lack of a meal plan that keeps me in my daily range of carbs and calories while getting enough fat. This feature would hopefully search and compile recipes based on matching stats and a shopping list would compile ingredients for a week of groceries (or whatever time frame the user selects).
61 votesHi there,
Thank you for voting!
In the meantime you can find two keto meal plans:
- Keto Burn > https://lifesum.helpshift.com/a/lifesum---healthier-eating-better-living/?s=plans-nutrition&f=keto-burn&l=en
- Keto Maintain > https://lifesum.helpshift.com/a/lifesum---healthier-eating-better-living/?s=plans-nutrition&f=keto-maintain&l=enBest,

NOTES
I think it would be a great idea to add "notes" to each daily diary so that we may document if we were having a bad day or if we were sick or something come up. Just so we know why we had a good day or a bad day!

Meal Planner and Grocery List
I would like to see a meal planner option to go along with the suggested diets. In that planner I would like to have a grocery list option i can print out that lists everything I need for that meal plan.
