  2. Carb cycling plan for workout/non-workout days

    I just discovered this app and am BLOWN AWAY by it. I really love that it features non-weight loss plans, and it's so much more positive and holistic than anything I've seen. For those of us who are looking to lose body fat while gaining muscle, some kind of carb cycling plan would be really useful (higher carb/lower fat days on workout days, higher fat/lower carb days for days we aren't working out). I realize that a plan might be difficult to work out the details on, but perhaps an ability to customize a plan would be great--I'd be thrilled…

  3. Water updates

    When I register in my meal a coke, a juice or other liquids having calories, it should be useful if the drink counter could update automatically

  4. Add fasting meal time setting

    People of different faiths fast at different times of the year as well some people exercise a fast diet. However the fast meal times do not conform to the 3 meal and snack regimen because in a fast we may be skipping one meal altogether and eating a lot more at a different meal time (after breaking the fast).

    There should be a setting to switch to fasting mode and be able to track meals accordingly.

  5. Vegan

    Please could you provide meal/diet plans that are 100% vegetarian or vegan, as none of your current meal/diet plans are usable by vegetarians as they all contain meat or fish. Please note that this is not the same request as being able to filter the recipes by vegetarian choices or setting your profile as vegetarian but rather a request for a new meal/diet plan option under the 'plans' tab for those who follow a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle.

  6. Drinks

  7. Add custom food entry section like MyFitness Pal

    Adding a custom recipe section or food entry system where I can add a recipe I made out of a Keto cookbook, and I can adjust the serving size (1 cup for example out of the whole recipient). OR allow us to enter custome fat/protein/carb amounts when adding custom calories. On the Keto plans this is extremely important.

  8. Add alternatives for sodium / salt input

    Judging by a lot of the data in the app, many people don't understand the difference between sodium and salt (either they thing 1g Salt = 1g Sodium, or they don't understand the difference between mg and g). Moreover in europe it's common to list Salt content (in g) in food labels rather than Sodium content.

    Lifesum could help by having a Salt (g) and Sodium (mg) field and depedning on which is entered last, updating the other field automatically (factor of 1g salt = 400mg sodium)

  9. Do not re enter exercise calories burned back into daily goals.

    After I have hit my nutritional goals for the day, I add in my calories burned from exercise and all my nutritional goals are recalculated, wanting me to eat more than my original intake goal...It's a known fact that you shouldn't eat back calories burned but it seems that that is what Lifesum is wanting me to do. It's extremely confusing to see my goals change after I enter in my exercise. Calories burned should count towards my total deficit for the day, not added back to my intake goals.   12. Scan nutritional information like you would a check or barcode

    Create an algorithm that will scan the nutritional information off of a picture that the user would take using his or her phone to add new foods. This would be similar to making a mobile check deposit or scanning a QR code. I feel it would be best used when adding new foods so that the user doesn't have to input everything manually.

    That is a great idea. We have some photo ideas, but looking at the tech industry it might instead be interesting to try and implement this idea in the technology that will hopefully be standard on a phone in a few years!

  13. Nutrition diary download

    It would be nice if there was a posibility to get your Nutrition diary as a PDF or similar. It is nice for a parallel Health coaching/food advice.

  14. remove the multiple entries of the same food type

    Too many times you can search for a food item and get a dozen results for the same food. Often these contain incorrect nutritional information as well so you have to search through to find the right one or edit the information. Whilst it is possible to scan the barcode, not all product entry is done this way whilst the fridge and freezer are open so you can scan the correct barcode.

  15. Better analysis tools

    It would be great with better analysis tools to compare nutrients over time. For example, average daily carbohydrate intake over week, month etc. Or average saturated and unsaturated fat.

    The app is great, but without more analysis tools it kind of loses its purpose over time and I wonder why you log all this data if I cannot analyze it properly.

  17. More snack reminders

    Many dietary plans recommends more than one snack per day. Being able to set at least two more snack reminders in Lifesum would be great.

  18. Add the possibility to create recipe books for selfmade recipes, e.g. sweet things, christmas recipes etc.

    Being able to enter recipes into different recipe books would provide a much better overview.

  19. Improve food database

    Lifesum is prettier than the alternatives but without a reliable database of foods it's no better than a spreadsheet or even, God forbid, myfitnesspal.

    • Let people take photos of the nutritional label and parse those (there are standard types around the world)
    • Try to find similar foods and merge them. Where data differs, note as much.
    • Make it easier to work around others' inability to interpret labels correctly (by automating de-duplication, importing bulk research data like the USDA database).
    • Make it easier to use volumetric units (more easily approximated than mass). This has to be done at food creation time…

  20. "Add Liquids" - separate from meals/snacks

    In addition to hydrating with my water bottle throughout the day, I drink coffee, tea, sparkling water, etc. I would love to see an "Add Liquids" section that is stand-alone from meals/snacks, because they are usually consumed between meals/snacks. Thanks!
